WYD – Cross and Icon Walk

Monday, the 14th of July, was the unofficial first day of the World Youth Day celebrations which saw the Cross and Icon of Mary brought into the city via ferry and carried through the streets of Sydney.

Unfortunately I was working this day, so I took an early lunch and wandered up to Circular Quay during the morning. Luckily I do work at the back of the Rocks, so was perfectly placed for much of the WYD activities. Alex, one of our parishioners at Rockdale-Arncliffe, was one of the cross-bearers for the day!
