Boag’s Brewery

Today saw us getting up early so Adam’s sister could get to a few appointments. Adam and I took his neices to a park in Launceston that had Japanese Macaques in it! They were by themselves in this enclosure in the middle of the park, wierd to see something like that outside a zoo. It has been raining for the last few months almost constantly here, so we got pretty covered in mud. I think the bottoms of my jeans are now classed as brown… But the girls had fun running everywhere! We then met up with Nadine and went and collected our hire car.

We had ordered a little automatic Getz, but they gave us a free upgrade to a Nissan Tiida 😀

We then went over to the Boag Brewery to see if we could get into a tour without booking, there was one beginning at 11am and it was almost that, so we were in. $25 saw us with 1.5 hrs of wandering around the Brewery with a guide learning all about the history and how the beer is made. Then back to the beginning for sampling of different beers with cheese and biccies. A nice way to spend a mid-morning.

View of the Gorge

Then we decided to head over to Cataract Gorge. We had a lovely lunch in the cafe overlooking the Gorge, then went for a walk over the suspension bridge and made the return trip via the chairlift. We then took a drive along the river back to Adam’s sister’s place, but I fell asleep in the car… hey it was sunny and nice!
