Brownies! a photo by kehkat on Flickr.

I just thought I’d share with you, a photo of the lovely brownies that I made!

These were made from a Ghirardelli box mix that I bought in San Francisco late last year.

Needless to say they were very well received by all who happened to consume one! 🙂

Black forest cupcakes

I got a lovely cupcake recipe book for Christmas from Anne, so many yummy recipes.

This was the first one I’ve tried thus far – black forest cupcakes. I took these to Steve and Shirley’s for our New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Pretty simple to make, the only icing involved is whipping up some cream for them, scattering shaved chocolate across and chucking a cherry on top.

End result, a distinctly yummy and presentable cupcake that requires minimal effort 😀

Trying out a recipe from the Country Women’s Association Cookbook, so you know they are all tried and true.

This one is for shortbread, simple and easy to make. I used a star shape cutter for a bit of a Christmas theme and left them plain with no icing or anything.

The end result, a very popular and yummy biscuit!

I originally made these up to take over to Tim and Craig’s on Saturday, seeing as Jaki was making everyone curry. But I got caught up with stuff at home, thus never made it over there.

Still, they are yummy and crunchy!

Beef & Red Wine Pies

Beef & Red Wine Pie

We had a family dinner last night – Anne, Mum & Dad plus Adam.

Good Tasmanian wine, got to show the family our photos and I cooked up a storm!

On the menu:

  • Beef and red wine pies
  • Baked potatoes and carrots
  • Steamed peas
  • Apple turnovers with custard
  • 2008 Velo & Devil’s Corner Pinot Noir (from our Tas trip)

These took a bit of time, but were well worth it and very well received 😀
